What is a Free Village?

We are an open group & community (Nostr, Telegram) of people from all over the world looking for a freer and healthier life with more economic liberty, less oppressive & undemocratic governments, more entrepreneurship, meritocracy, hard work, transparency and ownership opportunities.

The definition of what is liberty is always a tough challenge. While everyone has different perspectives and opinions about the way they want to live their lives or politics, on the core of it all we can say we are united by some of the following principles.

1. Liberty-minded

Being liberty-minded in this context refers to overall empathising with Classic Liberal values. This means valuing individual freedom, personal responsibility, and less government interference. Essentially, it represents the mindset of a typical person before the recent surge of global government encroachments and increasing regulations, adhering to traditional liberal principles.

1.1 Freedom of Expression

Freedom of expression is upheld as a vital fundamental right essential for the functioning of a democratic society. This principle guarantees that individuals can express their thoughts and opinions without fear of censorship or reprisal, fostering open dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

1.2 Self-Ownership

A cornerstone of this philosophy is the concept of self-ownership, which posits that individuals have inherent rights over their own bodies, minds, and actions. This principle underscores personal autonomy and sovereignty, ensuring that each person has control over their life and choices.

1.3 Non-Aggression Principle (NAP)

The Non-Aggression Principle is a moral guideline that prohibits the initiation of force or coercion against others. By adhering to the NAP, individuals and institutions promote peaceful coexistence and voluntary cooperation, creating a foundation for a harmonious society.

1.4 Protection of Individual Rights

A steadfast commitment to protecting individual rights is central to classical liberalism. These rights include the right to life, liberty, and private property, which form the bedrock of a just society. Protecting these rights allows individuals to pursue their goals and interests without undue interference from external entities.

1.4.1 Life

The recognition of the inherent value and sanctity of human life affirms individuals’ rights to live free from threats to their security and well-being. This protection is fundamental to ensuring personal safety and dignity.

1.4.2 Liberty

The prioritization of individual freedom highlights the importance of personal liberty and autonomy in decision-making and lifestyle choices. This emphasis on liberty ensures that individuals can lead their lives according to their values and beliefs.

1.4.3 Private Property

Acknowledging the significance of private property rights, classical liberalism is committed to protecting individuals’ ability to own, use, and dispose of property as they see fit. This protection of property rights is crucial for fostering economic prosperity and individual empowerment.

1.5 Free Markets

Free markets are a fundamental aspect of classical liberalism, promoting economic freedom and efficiency. By allowing voluntary exchanges and competition, free markets drive innovation, productivity, and wealth creation, benefiting society as a whole.

1.6 Capitalism

Capitalism, as an economic system, aligns with classical liberal principles by advocating for private ownership of the means of production and the free operation of markets. This system supports individual initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, and the efficient allocation of resources, contributing to overall economic growth and prosperity.

2. Very Affordable & Also with Volunteering Opportunities

2.1 Opportunities for as Cheap as Possible: The community should strive to provide affordable living options, with the goal of making housing and home ownership accessible to a wide range of individuals. By keeping costs low, the Free Village facilitates economic participation and stability, enabling residents to enjoy a high quality of life without financial strain.

2.2 Volunteering Opportunities: Volunteering should be actively encouraged as a means of contributing to community projects and initiatives. This not only supports communal goals and enhances the quality of life within the village but also fosters a strong sense of community involvement and collective purpose among residents.

3. Entrepreneurship-focused

3.1 Support for Entrepreneurs: The Free Village should provide a supportive environment for entrepreneurs by offering necessary resources, infrastructure, and encouragement for business ventures. This focus on entrepreneurship helps to stimulate economic activity, drive innovation, and create opportunities for growth and development within the community.

4. Safe & Family-Friendly

4.1 Safety: Ensuring safety should be a paramount concern, with measures in place to protect residents and maintain a secure living environment. This includes implementing community safety protocols and providing necessary resources to ensure a stable and secure atmosphere for all individuals.

4.2 Family-Friendly: The community should be designed to be welcoming and supportive of families, offering amenities and services that cater specifically to the needs of children and families. This creates an environment conducive to family life, promoting well-being and providing a nurturing setting for all family members.

5. Transparency & Blockchain-powered

5.1 Transparency: Governance and community operations should be conducted with a high level of transparency. This means that decision-making processes, financial transactions, and community activities are openly communicated and accessible, fostering trust and ensuring accountability within the community.

5.2 Blockchain-powered: The use of blockchain technology should enhance transparency and security in the community’s transactions and record-keeping. Blockchain provides a decentralized and immutable ledger, which ensures the integrity and reliability of records and facilitates efficient management of community operations.

6. Bitcoin

6.1 Integration of Bitcoin: Bitcoin should be integrated into the community’s financial practices, including its use for transactions and investments. This reflects a commitment to embracing digital currency and decentralized finance, offering residents an alternative and innovative means of conducting economic activities.
